- Separation for presenting arena-cards and deck-cards during the start-of-game procedure.
- Removal of provision on simultaneous IP - now both player's can get IP2s at the same time.
- Allowance for the use of randomization aides for determining random cards (in graveyard)
- Update Hidden Card Error to have infractions that were acknowledged or caused by an opponent to be considered a GRV or HT infraction instead (relevant for next change).
- Expanded full rewinds to allow for reversing drawing of cards by picking a random card from hand to put onto the deck - note that this can only occur when an infraction is NOT an HCE. This is especially relevant for fixing missed intimidate triggers.

Specific Changes§
Comprehensive Rules§
1.4.4b Added an example of Mage Master Boots’ go again effect not applying to the attack-proxy created by And Again…
1.10.2b Updated game state actions to include clearing sets of cards with the unique keyword and unbound cards with bind.
1.10.2e Updated to ensure that the combat state transitions can occur for the attack step when an attack ceases to exist before the damage step, and there’s another attack in the queue.
2.5.1a Updated renamed permanents with the life property as living-cards (instead of living objects). Updated references throughout the document.
2.10.6b Updated and fixed with non-functional subtypes: Log and Zombie
3.0.7a Updated to clarify that when an object moves zones, the object before the move is considered to both leave the origin and enter the destination.
3.0.7a Example Fixed to clarify that the card has the same Power leaving the origins and entering the destination.
3.0.7a Example Added another example showcasing Sirens of Safe Harbor being played by an opponent – it does not trigger when it get put into its owner’s graveyard.
3.0.8 Updated to remove the ruling that cards become face-down before the move to a private zone – instead they become private when they’re in that zone. This removes the conflicting ruling for Glyph Overlay and Sigils that trigger when they leave the arena.
3.0.8 Example Fixed wording of the example for consistency.
3.0.8a Example Updated to align the ruling with change to 3.0.8. where the Drone of Brutality doesn’t become face-down until it’s on the bottom of the deck.
3.0.11 Updated by rephrasing to make the effect distinction more clear.
4.1.4b Updated so that the cards and their number are private until the next step rather than the end of the presentation.
4.1.5 Added a new rule that describes the presentation of arena-cards before cards are selected for the starting-deck. This means that opponents’ arena-cards will be public information and can be used as information for selecting cards in the starting deck. IAR season will be a trial period for this particular change. Moves 4.1.5-4.1.9 to become 4.1.6-4.1.10.
4.1.5a Added subrule to confirm that no player can change their selection of arena-cards once they’re at this presentation step.
4.1.6b* Fixed so that cards that are “part of the player’s starting decks” are not presented to be shuffled and/or cut with the starting deck.
4.1.8a* Fixed to state that you cannot change cards in your starting deck once you’ve presented it to be shuffled and/or cut and then it goes into your deck zone. The previous subrule was misordered and incomplete.
4.1.8c Added a new subrule for putting cards that start the game outside the deck into their respective zones (e.g. phoenix flame).
4.1.9* Updated to remove presentation of arena-cards which is now an earlier step in the start-of-game procedure.
5.1.6c Updated to generalize asset-cost calculation for activated abilities with chi costs and no resource cost.
5.2.3e Added example to showcase a weapon’s activation limit being set by Flurry even if it previously didn’t have an activation limit.
6.4.2b Added a subrule that clarifies how ordinal multiple replacement effects work, especially in the case of prevention effects. “Prevent the first damage you’d be dealt each turn” effects will only prevent 1 damage per turn, not infinite events of 1 damage each.
6.6.5d Updated to rephrase conditional ordinality rule for style consistency.
7.2.2d Added subrule to state the dependence of the combat chain on the attack from the attack step until the damage step. Specifically the attack must exist until the damage step – otherwise the combat chain closes (if there’s nothing in the queue). Moved example from 7.7.2c
7.5.2 Updated that only public defending cards have their defense value summed in the case that Recede to Mistform is played after declaring defending cards but before damage is calculated.
7.7.2c Example Moved to 7.2.2d
8.1.8a Updated tokens to “remove from the game” instead of “cease to exist” when leaving the arena.
8.2.8d Updated to explicitly state declaring defending cards during the defend step.
8.2.8e Removed subrule – players are now considered to have dealt damage if their ally deals damage.
8.3.21 Updated Ephemeral to refer to the cards using “remove from the game” instead of “cease to exist”.
8.3.26 Updated rule to refer to cards instead of objects, as only cards can be equipped.

8.5.43a Fixed language to refer to card and double-faced card.
8.5.59 Added Cut effect keyword.
8.5.60 Added Traverse effect keyword.
Tournament Rules and Policy§
1.3 Formats Updated to explicitly state that card-pools for format are fixed and cannot be altered once the deadline for registration has passed or the first round has started.
1.4 Tournament Eligibility Updated eligibility for LSS Team members to exclude competitive REL tournaments. Aligned policy on suspended players with the webpage – players can’t participate in any tournaments when suspended.
3.3 Start-of-Game Procedure Updated to include the changes for the start-of-game procedure. Note that this is a summary and the comprehensive rules regarding this procedure are in the Comprehensive Rules. This is a trial update and may be reversed before the next core set release.
4.2 Cards Updated to explicitly state that only official cards can be used for the card-pool, created cards (e.g. Corrupted Corpse), reference cards (e.g. Arakni, Black Widow [Agent of Chaos]), and placeholder cards (e.g. the one placeholder we printed back in Uprising – Dragons of Legend). Tokens and Macros don’t need to be official cards.
4.2 Cards – Altered cards Updated to include double-sided symbols as a card property that cannot be altered.
5.1 Game Information Updated to include the rare but necessary distinction for Unverified information (e.g. cloaked) which is known to a Player and has allowed them to take an action that would otherwise be illegal, but cannot be verified by all other Players. This replaces the ill-defined “hidden information” referenced elsewhere.
5.10 Card Identification and Interpretation Updated to reference true text in the card vault.
5.12 Random Values Updated to allow for the use of randomization aides when determining random cards in a public zone. This is a trial update and may be reversed before the next core set release.
Procedure and Penalty Guide§
1.3 Types of Procedures – Rewind the game state Updated to allow for full rewinds to encompass random elements such as drawing a card from the top of the deck. This combined with the update to HCE infractions means that missing an intimidated card returning to hand after drawing up (e.g. Scowling Fleshbag) can now be fixed following the MT infraction procedure with a full rewind by putting a random card on top of the deck and then putting the intimidated card into the hand.
1.3 Types of Procedures – Partial fix Updated to clarify wording on how to deal with triggers in a partial fix. The primary idea is to partially fix the game state with respect to the outcome of triggers (and other effects) that would have occurred, and only putting triggers that would otherwise be unresolved on the stack.
1.4 Types of Penalties – Intellect Penalty Updated to remove provision on simultaneous IPs cancelling out in order to simplify the procedure as a whole.
2.3 Missed Trigger Updated to clarify that any missed trigger counts towards its limit if any.
2.5 Hidden Card Error Updated to prevent GRV and MT infractions that were either acknowledged by the opponent or were the responsibility of the opponent from being considered HCE. Also disambiguated whether the opponent chooses the position of cards returned to the deck when actions are based on the positions and locations of cards as part of a Hidden Card Error.
